Authenticates the Dutch signature, not the content.
An Apostille is issued by a Dutch court. It confirms that the signature on the VOG is genuine and that the signer was authorised to sign it. It does not translate the VOG, determine whether it is still accepted by the receiving authority or change the contents of the document.

- Original documentThe court needs the physical original VOG. A scan, downloaded PDF or ordinary printout cannot be apostilled.
- Separate translation stepA sworn translation is only added where the receiving authority requires one.

Do you hold the paper original?
If you have the original VOG issued in paper form, the Apostille route can be prepared. If you only have a scan or a document in your online account, you will first need a suitable physical original before an Apostille can be arranged.
Do not send the document onward yourself if translation or courier delivery is also part of your route. Once it is received by VOG Assist, the required document steps can be completed in the correct order.
