VOG ASSIST · FAQ
Clear answers
before you begin.
Whether you need a Dutch VOG from abroad or need to use one internationally, these are the questions clients ask most often.
The important details,
made simple.
VOG Assist provides independent practical support. Justis remains responsible for assessing and issuing a VOG.
A Dutch VOG, or Verklaring Omtrent het Gedrag, is an official Certificate of Conduct. Justis assesses whether any relevant past conduct could be an objection for the specific purpose stated in the application.
Yes. In many cases, the application can be prepared and submitted remotely. Where an authorisation is required, we prepare the form for you to sign and return. Once the original VOG is issued, it is received by VOG Assist so we can complete the selected onward steps.
Yes. Former Dutch residents can apply through the procedure for applicants living outside the Netherlands. The correct route depends on your situation and the purpose for which the VOG is required.
Justis independently assesses every application and decides whether to issue the VOG. VOG Assist can prepare and coordinate the application route, but cannot influence the assessment or guarantee the outcome.
We first need the purpose of the VOG, the country where it will be used, and a signed statement from the requesting organisation confirming why the VOG is required. If that statement is not available, official written requirements or the relevant webpage may be suitable. We will then confirm the precise documents needed for your route.
As a general indication, allow around four weeks for the overall route. Timing can vary because Justis independently assesses each application. Once the original VOG has been issued, an Apostille, sworn translation and courier delivery can usually be arranged within approximately one additional week.
That depends on the country and receiving authority. An Apostille confirms the authenticity of the Dutch signature for use abroad. Your employer, authority or receiving organisation should confirm whether it is required. Read more about an Apostille for a Dutch VOG.
A translation is only needed when the receiving authority requires the VOG in another language. Where required, we coordinate a sworn translation and, if necessary, an Apostille on the translated document. See sworn translation for a VOG.
No. When those steps form part of your selected route, VOG Assist receives the original VOG and coordinates the Apostille, sworn translation and courier delivery. You receive the completed original documentation at the agreed address.
Yes. If you already hold the original VOG, we can coordinate only the steps still required, such as an Apostille, sworn translation or DHL Express delivery.
The total depends on whether you require only the VOG application or a full international document route. The route and total cost are confirmed before work begins. View the available routes on the pricing page.
